Flamingo Tile Shower Project

Flamingo tile showers are making waves for their bold splash of fun and elegance. They’re capturing attention for a reason—these beauties bring a pop of personality to any bathroom. With an array of options to customize the vibe, it’s no wonder they’re a hot trend.

Choosing the right pattern tiles is like picking out the perfect outfit. Whether you’re into chic, geometric shapes or more whimsical designs, you’ve got plenty of room to showcase your style. The trick is finding a balance; while flamingos are the star, the supporting role goes to the tiles that complement them beautifully.

Patterned tiles offer a chance to craft stunning designs. Thinking outside the box with zigzags or diagonals can transform a simple shower into a striking statement. Symmetry isn’t the only way to go—consider playing around with layouts to keep things fresh and exciting.

Large Shower With Tiled Tray

Who doesn’t love the idea of stepping into a home spa? The big buzz these days is all about large showers with tiled trays. These aren’t just a decorating trend; they scream luxury and ooze practicality. In modern homes, these showers stand out as a favourite feature, offering expansive space and elegant aesthetics. So, why are they suddenly the go-to choice? It’s all about style and substance.

Tiled trays are where function meets art. They’re perfect for crafting a custom look and offer better water management. Their sleek look can be tailored to any theme, from minimalist chic to rustic comfort. Plus, they’re easier to clean and maintain, keeping mould and grime at bay.

When picking out tiles, focus on materials that are water-resistant and durable. Ceramic and porcelain tiles lead the way here. They not only look good but also hold up against heavy use and moisture. Don’t forget about safety, though. Slip-resistant tiles can make all the difference.

Design plays a huge role in how a space operates and feels. Think about optimizing lighting to highlight textures and create ambiance. Nifty storage solutions can keep clutter at bay while enhancing the seamless style of a large shower. Making it feel open yet intimate often lies in the details.

Though installing these large tiled wonders can seem daunting, it doesn’t have to be a headache. Consider hiring professionals to avoid tricky pitfalls and to ensure high-quality workmanship.

Caring for tiled shower trays means sticking to some easy cleaning routines. Regularly sweeping soap scum and drying tiles can keep your shower looking its best. Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners to protect the grout and tiles from damage.

Money matters, right? The price tag for all this beauty can vary widely. Tile choices, labour, and installation complexity can all affect the final bill. It’s smart to list everything from underlayment to grout in your budget. Investing now in quality pieces means less maintenance down the line.

Inspiration is everywhere once you know where to look. Peek into real-life transformations to see how others maximize space and add flair to their bathrooms. They can spark ideas you didn’t even know you wanted until you see them.

Tiled Hearth Fireplace

Adding a tiled hearth fireplace to your space can totally change up the vibe—balancing a perfect blend of style and function. These fireplaces aren’t just about keeping you warm on those chilly evenings; they can become a bold focal point for your living area.

Tiles open up endless opportunities to express creativity in your décor. Mixing textures and patterns can create dynamic looks that stand out. What’s cool is that you can use tiles to craft a centerpiece that draws everyone’s eyes as soon as they enter the room while reflecting your personality

You’ll hear from homeowners who rave about how their tiled hearth fireplace has transformed their space. It’s these stories that highlight the real-life joy and functionality a well-designed fireplace can add to your home.

With technology sneaking into every corner of our homes, fireplaces are no exception. Smart tech integration can help you manage and control the fireplace remotely, enhancing your home’s comfort and efficiency. It’s about convenience meeting luxury in every way.

At the end of the day, getting the right professional to handle installation and maintenance is crucial. It helps you avoid mishaps and ensures that your stylish investment keeps serving you well into the cosy future.

Fish tank Shower

Modern bathroom design just keeps getting cooler and more creative. Imagine stepping into your shower and feeling like you’re in an underwater sanctuary. That’s the idea behind the fish tank shower – a unique blend of style, relaxation, and nature.

So, what exactly is a fish tank shower? Picture a shower where one wall is a clear aquarium, filled with colourful fish and aquatic plants. You’re showering right next to this vibrant, living scenery. It’s like bringing a piece of the ocean right into your home.

There are so many benefits to this setup. First, it’s visually stunning. The movement of the fish and the gentle sway of the plants create a calming atmosphere that’s perfect for unwinding. Plus, it’s a great conversation starter. Who wouldn’t be impressed by something this unique?

Beyond aesthetics, there’s a psychological aspect too. Studies have shown that watching fish swim can reduce stress and anxiety. This makes your shower more than just a place to get clean – it’s a mini-retreat where you can clear your mind and relax.

Nature-inspired designs are all the rage right now, and the fish tank shower fits right in. By integrating elements of the natural world into your daily routine, you create a space that feels both luxurious and grounded. It’s an everyday escape that’s right in your own home.

Creating the Perfect Ambiance: Design Elements

Using a fish tank as a dividing wall in your shower isn’t just about visual appeal; it’s a brilliant way to combine functionality with aesthetics. The clear tank serves as a unique partition, giving your bathroom an open and airy feel while maintaining distinct spaces.

When it comes to large walk-in showers, they scream luxury and comfort. Plenty of room to move around and no cramped feeling. You get a spa-like experience right at home. Adding a fish tank to one side of this spacious setup? Pure magic.

Pebble mosaic tiles add that earthy, tactile sensation underfoot, complementing the aquatic environment. They bring a rustic yet refined touch, grounding the entire space. It’s like walking on a beach every time you shower.

A seamless glass screen is crucial for maintaining the clean, modern lines of your bathroom. It ensures there’s no disruption in your view of the fish tank. Plus, it’s easier to clean, keeping that pristine look without much hassle.

Combining all these elements – the fish tank, walk-in shower, pebble tiles, and glass screen – results in an ambiance that is both luxurious and inviting. You’re creating not just a bathroom, but a tranquil haven that elevates your daily routine.

Functional Features for a Luxurious Shower Experience

A rain showerhead is a game-changer. The gentle, all-over water flow mimics natural rainfall, turning your shower time into a peaceful escape. It’s not just about getting clean; it’s about enjoying each moment under perfectly distributed water streams.

When designing your fish tank shower, consider water efficiency. Look for fixtures that offer eco-friendly features. High-efficiency showerheads can save water without sacrificing performance, making your bathroom greener and more sustainable.

Keeping your fish tank shower clean is easier than you might think. Regular maintenance routines for both the fish tank and the shower area will keep things sparkling. Use non-toxic, fish-safe cleaners for the tank and simple, everyday shower cleaners for the rest of the area.

Safety and comfort go hand in hand. Ensure non-slip surfaces are in place, both inside the shower and around the fish tank. Proper lighting is essential too – it highlights the beauty of the fish tank while ensuring safe navigation within the shower.

Practical Considerations and Installation Tips

Choosing the right fish is crucial. You want species that are hardy and low-maintenance. Freshwater fish like guppies or tetras are great choices. Make sure the tank has the right filtration and environment to keep your aquatic friends thriving.

Deciding between professional installation and DIY depends on your comfort level and skills. Professionals can ensure everything is set up correctly, especially the plumbing and electrical work. But if you’re handy and love a challenge, a DIY project can be deeply satisfying.

Maintenance is key to keeping both your shower and fish tank in top condition. Regular cleaning of the shower area, combined with consistent checks on the tank’s water quality, will keep everything fresh and functioning well. Invest in good-quality equipment and consider a monthly deep clean for the tank.

Cost is always a consideration. High-end materials and professional installation can add up, but there are budget-friendly alternatives. Consider smaller fish tanks or DIY installations to keep costs down without sacrificing style and function. Exploring second-hand markets for materials can also offer some great deals without compromising quality.

Porch Floor Project

Here we did a very large porch floor in Original style tiles these are small tiles often with a border. They have small pieces that fit together a bit like a jigsaw.

we spent a lot of time working out how the border saw going to fit the shape of the porch best.

We found that laying it out dry first then picking it up a section at a time to properly lay was the best way.

Very testing but turned out really well, very striking to look at.

Great finish

Bar Tiling Project

Here we have a project that we did, the bar was originally built in solid blocks with a 50mm slab top on it.

We tiled the top in a 600mm x 600mm polished porcelain tile. The face of the bar was a tile that has no need to be grouted these are called Splitface tiles. Splitface are great as feature tile sometimes used for garden feature walls

The built in BBQ was a nice touch we added in which turned out really well, it was a kit for a brick a built setup

This was one of our more unique projects thoroughly enjoyed working on this one. Fantastic finish

Questions To Ask Your Tiler Before Starting A Project

Hiring someone to tile your space? You got to make sure they’re qualified! This isn’t just about throwing up some tiles; it’s about getting a job done right, the first time. The way to start is by understanding your tiler’s experience and qualifications.

First off, knowing your tiler’s experience is crucial. You want someone who’s been around the block and knows the ropes. So, ask them straight up, “How long have you been tiling?” This gives you insight into their expertise. Simple, but super important.

Don’t skip the portfolio review. A good tiler will have a range of projects to show you. Pictures, videos, or even client testimonials can help you gauge their style and proficiency. It’s your space they’re working on, so it should match your vision.

In summary, getting the right tiler boils down to digging into their experience and qualifications. Ask the key questions and look for solid answers. This sets the foundation for a successful tiling project and ensures you’re hiring a pro who can deliver top results.

Clarifying Project Details and Expectations

Jumping into a tiling project without clear expectations is a recipe for chaos. You need to know the nitty-gritty details before a single tile is laid. That means covering the project scope, timeline, materials, and possible bumps in the road.

First, you need a crystal-clear understanding of the project scope. Spell out every detail – room dimensions, tile patterns, grout colours, everything. Ask your tiler to walk through the plan with you. This ensures they’re on the same page and ready to meet your expectations.

Next up is the timeline. Nobody likes a project that drags on forever. Pin down a solid answer from your tiler by asking, “What is your estimated timeline for completion?” This helps you manage your schedule and sets the pace for the work ahead. Plus, knowing their schedule helps you catch early signs if things are slipping.

Choosing materials isn’t just about what looks good; it’s about what lasts. Ask, “What materials do you recommend for my specific project?” Your tiler has seen it all and can suggest what’s durable and fits your style. Listen to their advice but also make sure it aligns with your vision.

Speaking of delays, they happen. Address this head-on by asking, “How do you handle any potential delays or unforeseen issues?” Knowing their plan for hiccups can save a lot of stress down the line. Whether it’s a shipment gone wrong or a sudden weather issue, having a Plan B keeps everything smoother.

In short, clear communication about project details and expectations sets the stage for a smooth tiling journey. Being thorough now saves you major headaches later.

Understanding Costs and Contract Terms

Money talks, right? Before diving into your tiling project, nailing down the costs and contract terms is key. This means understanding every financial detail and making sure there’s a solid agreement in place.

First things first, get a detailed quote. Ask your tiler, “Can you provide a quote?” This quote should break down labour, materials, and any other expenses. No one likes surprise costs, so clarity upfront is crucial.

Payment terms are next on the list. Dig into this by asking, “What are your payment terms?” Some tilers may ask for a deposit, while others prefer incremental payments as milestones are hit. Knowing this helps you plan financially and ensures you’re meeting their expectations.

Let’s talk guarantees. These are your safety nets. Ask your tiler, “Do you offer any warranty or guarantees on your work?” Knowing you have some form of coverage if things go sideways can offer peace of mind.

Changes happen. Maybe you decide on a different material midway, or there’s an unexpected issue underneath your old flooring. Ask, “How do you handle any necessary changes during the project?” This gives you an idea of their flexibility and how they’ll manage modifications in the plan.

Unexpected costs can pop up like weeds. Close this gap by asking, “Will there be any additional costs that might come up?” It’s better to know potential extras now rather than being blindsided later.

Ultimately, a clear understanding of costs and contract terms keeps your project running smoothly and your budget in check. It creates a transparent, trust-worthy relationship between you and your tiler. No guessing games, just solid, dependable work.
